Ever have a weird break out and don’t know what’s causing it? After I learned about face mapping, it helped me understand my breakouts so much more! In this blog post, we’re going to figure out what your breakouts are telling you based on what area of the face they’re at!
1: Chin and Jawline
The majority of my breakouts are along my jawline. An excess of hormones can result in clogged pores and excessive oil production, which leads to acne. Annoying, I know!
Eliminating or reducing dairy and adding probiotics to your diet can calm inflammation and reduce acne producing hormones!
Cause: Stress and Unhealthy Eating
Fun fact: your forehead is linked to your digestive and nervous systems! This connection makes your forehead more vulnerable to diet and stress-related breakouts.
Drinking plenty of water and getting at least 7-9 hours of sleep is a great, easy fix to these breakouts! Also, eating less processed foods and sugar will help a ton.
Cause: Beauty Product Buildup
It can be easy to neglect the hairline when washing your face, which makes your hairline a target for breakouts! The chemicals and oils in your shampoo and makeup can build up on your skin and sink into your pores (ew).
A great start would be switching to natural shampoo and conditioners. One thing that has helped me prevent hairline breakouts is using double cleansing! Double cleansing can be done by using an oil to break down everything on your skin and then following it with a regular cleanser. I use the Knours Your Only Cleanser because it’s an oil and foam cleanser all in one!
Cause: Cell Phone and Pillowcase
Your phone accumulates more bacteria during the day than you think. Your pillowcases also accumulate oil and dirt, which can lead to clogged pores.
Wiping down your phone daily is a must! The more you put your phone to your face without cleaning it, the more likely you are to have a breakout there. In addition, wash your pillowcases every couple of days to get rid of the oil and dirt buildup!
