With 2021 being far from a calm, smooth year I figured we could all use some ways to de-stress! Since it is not completely safe out in public spaces yet, I decided to make a list specific to things you can do in the comfort of your own home or outdoors. I posted an IG story asking my followers for their favorite ways to de-stress and thanks to them, I’ve curated the perfect list for all of you!
1. Pray
If you want to have the perfect de-stress routine, you should definitely start it with prayer. Vent to God and tell Him what’s weighing on you so He can take the load off of you. Praying can look like sitting in silence and speaking to Him, singing worship music, or writing down your prayers in a journal! There are more ways to pray as well, it looks different for everyone.
2. Yoga

Not only is it amazing for your body, but it’s incredible for your mind! With the right yoga session, I’m ready to go right to bed after. Thanks to YouTube, all you need is a yoga mat and you can have a yoga class right in your room!
3. Read a Book

Reading is the perfect way to escape from everything for a while, other than having a spa day. There’s not much better than reading a book in bed with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee!
4. Be Still

Sometimes our lives become so fast-paced we forget to just slow down, be still and do nothing. You could do this in your bed, on your couch, or outside. Whatever stillness looks like for you, soak in it for as long as you can.
5. Write It Out

Journaling is one of my favorite things to do, it’s usually how I start my day in the morning. It’s such a great way to get all your thoughts out! I also really like journaling my prayers as well. Getting everything running around your mind down on paper helps declutter your thoughts!
I hope you love all of these de-stressors as much as I do! It’s been a weird year, but we can get through this. Whenever you’re feeling overwhelmed, take the time to come back to this blog post and do one of these things. Give yourself permission to slow down! Thank you so much for reading. Stay safe and healthy 😉
