  • A drop of 25% in carbon dioxide emissions along with 40% in nitrogen oxide emissions was observed. Similar changes have been observed in Italy during the self-isolation period.

  • Due to the decrease in fuel demands for factories and travel, there has been a sharp decline by 435,000 barrels a day in the first quarter of 2021, due to the pandemic.
